The world of Eos was consumed by chaos 8,000 years ago, when the bleeding star triggered a celestial Cataclysm. The planet's moons collided and shattered, its oceans swallowed the land, and reality itself was torn asunder. Over millenia, the dark past of the feudal Alyrians, the mysterious Akurai Imperials, the nomadic Tekawa ocean clans, and the city-states of the far west was long-forgotten... until the return of the bleeding star across the night sky.

Alyria is a land unfamiliar to magic and monsters and consumed by political intrigue. Ashen and Caldaea are teetering on the verge of civil war, while foreigners invade the coastline of the Broken Coast up north. Things shift across the nine kingdoms as strange happenings begin taking place. The Grand Repository, a hub of knowledge for the kingdoms and home to the mysterious Magisters, is attacked and the Magisters slaughtered. Children are lured from their homes into forests at night by ghoulish whispers. Fresh corpses vanish, and the seas run red. The natural order of things is shifting.

As events unfold and it becomes clear that the bleeding star is more than just a random celestial body in the sky, different people around the world are thrown into the thick of the coming storm. Katryna Bower, the runaway princess of Camridia, has many challenges to overcome given her traumatic childhood and estranged family, in a kingdom dictated by conservative laws which refuse to help her lead. The royal Blacktree and Seynard families sink deeper into conflict. Tensions consume King Emery Blacktree, his crippled son Petir, and the kidnapped princess Ciana, all while the despisable Wesley Seynard plots to destroy the Blacktrees for good, even if it means giving in to his monstrous desires. Tomas, a peasant butcher's boy turned soldier during the Akurai invasion, is thrown into a journey of madness with the strange Lynn Jhono as they fight to discover the truth behind the strange bleeding star, the ancient scribblings of a supposed madman, and the other-wordly events being unleashed upon the world.

The Fables of Chaos is the debut grimdark epic fantasy series by Jackson Simiana, exploring the rich yet broken world of Eos and its diverse peoples as differing cultures and nations are forced to seek the truth behind the Final Ruin and fight for their very survival as the world tears itself apart. The story begins with Starfall and will continue to expand and progress in further iterations coming soon.
