God, I hate formatting paperbacks...

If you aren't a self-published author, it can be difficult to understand how hair-pullingly frustrating it is to format paperbacks! When you upload your manuscript that you've spent months formatting and editing, only to have KDP tell you that the margins are wrong, the trim size is incorrect, there is text and images that fall outside the cut... GAH, it is anger-inducing.
Then, when you go through and figure out all the maths of how big everything has got to be, followed by reediting the text of your manuscript, for example ensuring that section pages are on the odd-numbered pages, only to have more mistakes pop up when you reupload or for there to be size issues with the cover image you spent months tweaking on Photoshop... enough said.
Thankfully, the experience with formatting the paperback of Tears of the Moon Part I was not too difficult, thanks to learning from my previous mistakes! Only took me several hours more than what I initially expected, but hey, such is the way of producing perfection. I am really proud of this paperback- I taught myself how to use Photoshop so I could produce the exact cover image I wanted, I created all the maps (including an all-new war map!) myself using a brilliant program called Wonderdraft, and I spent many months finalising the manuscript edit.
I truly hope people are going to enjoy TotM Part I as much as I enjoyed it.
Peace out, be kind, one month to go!
